About Italian American Bakery
Located at 727 Franklin Ave, Franklin Square, NY 11010, Italian American Bakery operates as an italian deli serving Franklin Square in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.
The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 6 AMβ7 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Italian American Bakery at (516) 561-6711; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Its Google rating is 3.9 out of 5 from 103 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Franklin Square is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Franklin Square is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I have been going to this bakery for over 25yrs now . Watching the prices climb up to a point where I will no longer give any money to this bakery. The quality also has been declining, I had my last conversion with the Woman who is part owner I said β$5 for this are you kidding me β her answer was β everything is so expensive now β my response β everyone is using that exact excuse now itβs time I stop giving you any further business your prices have for a long time now been very expensive !

I bought $98 worth of cookies and 1 pound was all stale. They were hard as a brick. I went back to complain and she wants me to bring her the cookies. Very unfriendly owner doesnβt care about a customers. They must be new because Iβve been buying that cookies from them for over 40 years never buy from them again.

First, I have to say that I have been going to this bakery since I was a kid. It was good, for a while, it wasnβt so good, But it has always been my go to every time I come into town. And this time, it was great! An art gallery of flavor. I bought my Maβs favorite cake for her birthday, Strawberry Shortcake. I bought it Friday with intention to present it that evening to her but our day of fun got away from us and we completely forgot it in the fridge. We brought it to my brotherβs house for Fatherβs Day Sunday and much to our delight it was still soft, moist, flavor full and Mom said it is the best she ever tasted, it was a big hit at the party. Thank you to the Lady and gentlemen who helped me. They both were extremely nice, friendly, pleasant and happy. I look forward to going back for the Cannoli and Tiramisu. Great, thank you, keep it up.

Amato Sweet Home Bakery Layout/atmosphere *Small bakery; tables on sidewalk; parking lot Food/drink *Cannoli (with chocolate chips) - quite good; large amount of cream; good crunch on the shell; hint of sweetness in both the cream and shell itself *Raspberry crumb cake - above average; not much filling
